Branch is a video app where stories aren't fixed — they branch. You watch a clip, and at certain points the story lets you decide what happens next. Every choice leads somewhere real, made by someone else who was here before you.
Just tap one on the Explore page and it starts playing. Most of the time, it'll keep playing on its own, clip after clip, like one continuous video — you don't need to do anything.
Most points in a story only have one path forward, so there's nothing to choose — it just continues. Even where more than one path exists, one of them is already set as the default, so the story plays through it seamlessly rather than stopping to ask every single time.
Yes — tap the map icon in the corner of the video to open the Story Map. It shows every branch in the story, including the ones that weren't playing by default, and you can jump straight into any of them.
Whichever branch has the most likes. If it's a genuine tie — most often because neither has any likes yet — whichever one was made first holds that spot until something genuinely earns more likes than it.
The story has reached a real fork — nothing exists yet past this point, or there's more than one direction and neither's playing automatically. Tap one to continue. If neither feels right, "Something else…" lets you describe your own idea instead.
Yes — look for the branch icon while something's playing. It'll pause, show you what already exists at that point, and let you pick one of those or write your own. Canceling picks up exactly where you left off.
Yes, from the Studio tab. Describe an opening scene and Branch generates it as a real video clip.
Each account can make a few clips a day, and more arrive the next day. Watching and choosing is always unlimited.
You'll always see a preview first. Nothing goes live until you actually choose to keep it — if you don't like the result, you can discard it and try a different idea instead.
Every description is checked before it's sent off to become a video. Sexual content and anything involving minors are never allowed — normal dramatic material like tension, conflict, or violence is fine, since that's ordinary territory for the kinds of stories here.
From Studio → My Branches, yes. If nothing's been built on top of it yet, it's removed completely. If someone has already continued it, it's removed from your own list, but stays in the story for everyone else — nothing that others are relying on just disappears.
The heart likes one specific clip — it's tied to that exact scene, and it's what feeds into which path plays automatically. The bookmark follows the whole story, as a way to keep track of it for yourself.
Yes — tap the same heart again, either right on the clip or from your Liked & Followed list.
Tap your profile icon, then "Liked & Followed."
Tap Report on the right side of the player and pick a reason. You don't need an account.
Not to watch and choose. You need one to make clips, start a story, or follow people. Sign in with email, Google or X; your @handle goes on everything you make.
No. It's used to sign you in and to let you know when someone continues your story, and it's never shown publicly. The Privacy Policy has the details.
Tap your profile photo, choose Manage account, then Delete account. Or ask us through the contact page. What gets deleted.
